DAS BLATT was born from the idea of publishing one’s own photographs and texts in a small booklet. For the duration of a year, a new “sheet” is bound and published every month with analogue photographs taken in the respective month and own texts about times long gone or stories about fictitious memories. The photo book project is personal and aims to show the connection between photography and literature. The project seeks to understand how a photograph can be translated into text and vice versa. For often one reads more in a photograph than in words, and often one sees more in words than in pictures.
