‘title still missing’ is a personal journey that attempts to visualise the emotional and cultural gaps that arise when you are caught between two worlds. Eight years ago, at the age of 24, I left my home in Albania for a ‘better’ life, with the intention of never returning. I carried a lot of anger towards my country and my family, to the point where I thought I would never look back. Last spring, I began the process of acquiring the Austrian citizenship, which meant that I had to apply to renounce my Albanian citizenship. In the days leading up to submitting my paperwork, I struggled with conflicting feelings and felt like I was betraying my roots. I decided to leave my life in Graz behind for 7 weeks and search for my identity in Albania.

Brisilda Bufi (*1991, Tirana, AL). After completing her bachelor’s degree in classical piano in Tirana, she moved to Graz in 2015, where she still lives today. In 2021, Bufi completed the evening college for Fine Art Photography and Multimedia Art at the Ortweinschule Graz. In June 2024, she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Information Design at the JOANNEUM University in Graz.
